Opportunity Works supports:

o Over 260 individuals from communities across the Merrimack Valley with our programs
o Program participants with our Person Centered Approach
o Individuals who express a desire to explore and obtain jobs within their community
o A broad range of daily activities that take place in a variety of community settings such as museums, parks, farms, theaters, fitness clubs,

salons and local volunteer groups. o Those with brain injuries with structured activities and interventions that provide instruction and support in 5 key areas

This week, Northern Essex Community College honored community pillars that impact their campus for the 4th Annual NECC Impact Awards. Our President and CEO, Jane Harris-Fale and Opportunity Works, was awarded with the Equity and Social Justice Award. Thank you so much for choosing us as receipients of this award. Newburyport and Haverhill programs got together to enjoy some time at Wolf Hollow in Ipswich! There they were able to see 7 different wolves and learned about them from hands on experiences from the handlers.

⚾Our friends at the Rowley Library is hosting an all-ages Duck Decorating contest! Ducks will be on display at the beginning of May. Check out our sporty Red Quax Duck-Out (Duck Sox Quack-Out? Still work shopping the name). Submit your own ducky pun below.

⚾The folks had fun painting the jersey and picking out which player from the official roster their duck should emulate. Go Sox!

💛💙This Spring. Opportunity Works is moving to an electronic healthcare record system to streamline documentation. The company we chose is eHana. We have spent several months working on building our workflows to be perfect for implementation. We were finally able to meet some of the representatives who have been helping us.

A huge thank you to Lindsey, Rachel, and Maralee for their hands on training last week and the basket of nifty eHana gifties.

💙💛Our Project SEARCH, CBDS and specialized programs all had the opportunity to learn from Alexandra Selman, Human Rights Specialist, during an engaging and informative presentation. It was wonderful experience that expanded their understanding of advocacy, inclusion, and the importance of their human rights!

💙On Wednesday 4/15, our Newburyport and Haverhill CBDS Crews joined together for a beautiful game at Delta Dental Stadium to watch the Fishercats face Chesapeake Baysox. They even got to see a few critter friends and even got to shake hands with Fungo the Mascot. Best of all Fishercats WON the game 20-1!!!

Last week kicked off the OpArt exhibit, open until April 25th! We had an amazing receptions with the artists and their families and friends. Check out some of the work here but PLEASE go visit the on 65 Water St In Newburyport Wednesday through Sunday 11AM-5PM to see these amazing works in person! All artwork by the OpArtists are for sale as well as the thank you cards.

Additionally you may have noticed the incredible portraits of some familiar faces. A new volunteer, John Douglass, has, in an effort to improve his painting skills, created 36 portraits of our current roster of artists. The result is absolutely stunning and incredibly moving. The works aren't for sale, as OpArt volunteer John is offering them as gifts to the artists and their families.
