The countdown is on! In just one week, kids from across the area will be casting their lines at the 2026 Youth Fishing Derby at Veterans Park Pond!

Whether your child is a first-time angler or already has their lucky fishing pole picked out, this is a morning they won't want to miss.

📅 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Veterans Park Pond
👦 Ages 0–15
💲 FREE to participate

🎣 Prizes will be awarded in multiple age divisions, and every participant will have the chance to enjoy a fun morning of fishing with family and friends.

⚠️ Pre-registration closes this Sunday!
Be sure to register before the deadline at:

Miss the deadline? No problem!

✅ On-site registration will be available the morning of the event. Just arrive a little early and we'll get your young angler signed up before the fishing begins.

In less than one month, we'll gather at Veterans Park to celebrate a milestone 250 years in the making.

Join us on Saturday, June 27th for Red White & Blue FEST as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday with an evening full of live music, food trucks, vendors, family activities, and a fireworks show designed specifically for this historic occasion.

Saturday, June 13th from 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM, kids ages 0–15 are invited to cast a line at Veterans Park Pond for one of the best mornings of the summer. 🐟

Whether your kid is a first-time fisher or already talking like a pro… this event is all about fun, family, and making memories at the pond.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer — it is a day of honor, reflection, and gratitude for those who never made it home.

Because of their sacrifice, we are able to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we have today. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

We invite the community to join us today at 12:00 PM at Newcastle Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located off Highway 62, for a Memorial Day Ceremony as we come together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
