Today Engine 41 stopped by Station 38 in Penryn to congratulate our partners at Penryn Fire for excellent patient care they provided earlier this month. Due to their quick thinking Michael was able to come back and thank the crews in person. Well done!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the West Sacramento Fire Department and the family and friends of Engineer Hall. Please keep this agency and all that knew Engineer Hall in your thoughts as they navigate this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that we report West Sacramento Fire Department Fire Engineer Tim Hall, an 18-year veteran with the West Sacramento Fire Department (WSFD) died this morning in the line of duty during a training exercise.
Hall, 59, was a graduate of the 2006 Sacramento Regional Fire Academy.
Additionally, Hall was an active volunteer with Clarksburg Fire Protection District.
While with WSFD, Hall was a fire investigator, an active member of Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 7, and a dedicated Fire Engineer.
“Our fire department is heartbroken,” said WSFD Chief Steve Binns. “Engineer Hall loved this City and bravely served to protect our community.”

Today Placer Hills Firefighters spent the day reflecting on the events of 9/11. For so many of our staff the events of September 11, 2001 was a contributing factor for why they chose to serve in the American fire service. In a memo sent to all staff today Chief Gow stated in part, “This day reminds me of the sacrifice Firefighters can be asked to make in order to protect the public. We can honor that sacrifice by never forgetting, and by thinking of all of them today. Thanks for all you do. I’m proud of every one of you and I am privileged to be a part of our team.”

May we never forget the sacrifice firefighters made on 9/11 and let’s keep all firefighters in our thoughts as they discharge their duties daily with a service before self dedication.
