🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

STATE ROUTE 49 IS CLOSED BETWEEN THE CONFLUENCE AND BORLAND AVE/LINCOLN WAY IN AUBURN

As of 6:45am this morning, June 1, 2026, State Route 49 is closed between the Confluence and Auburn due to a commercial vehicle crash. Crews are actively working to reopen the highway.

Please use Old Auburn Foresthill Road/Foresthill Road as an alternate route.

As of 4:30 AM today, May 27, 2026, all lanes of Interstate 80 are open following this fatal traffic crash. Thank you to all for your patience as we worked to clear the lanes.

All lanes of I-80 eastbound at Placer Hills Road are blocked due to a fatality accident. All eastbound traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Placer Hills Road and re-entering the freeway past the crash scene.

All lanes of State Route 49 at Joeger Road are open.

Crews are still actively working in the area and traffic has some delays, so please continue to use caution if traveling through the area.

STATE ROUTE 49 AT JOEGER ROAD

Today, May 23, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., over 100 bags of concrete were spilled onto the highway.

Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction, but is still flowing. Expect delays while crews work to clear the roadway.

Please slow down, or use an alternate route.

Tonight was a great night for candid and forward-thinking conversations regarding E-Bikes and traffic safety.

With a focus on safety, not only for our youth, but for all users of the sidewalks and roadways within Placer County.

Together, we can continue promoting safety while making Placer County a GREAT place to live, work, and recreate!

A special thank you to Bayside Granite Bay and Placer County Supervisor Susanne Jones for hosting such a productive event!

On Thursday, May 14th, Placer County District 4 Supervisor Susanne Jones is hosting a community conversation/meeting.

We will be discussing traffic safety, traffic concerns, and electric bicycles in and around the Douglas Boulevard area of Granite Bay.

The meeting begins at 6pm and will take place at Bayside Granite Bay
(8191 Sierra College Blvd. Granite Bay)

You will hear from a panel that includes:
CHP, Placer County Sherriff's Office, Placer County Department of Public Works, Placer County Department of Transportation, School Resource Officers, and more!
