WNYNFC, an organization that studies the nocturnal migration of birds in our region recently sponsored an art contest. 5th grader, Addy Grimes, won a 1st place prize of $250. In the picture is acclaimed ornithologist Bill Evans presenting Addy her check after he was done giving a presentation on birds to our Conservation club. Newfane Conservation club was also awarded a $500 prize for our outstanding participation in the art contest. Kenzie Newman (not pictured) tied for 5th and also won a $25 prize. The last picture is the kids showing off some ice fishing poles that were recently donated by Newfane resident, Lance Wilson.

Last Thursday, May 21, 2026, Newfane Middle School celebrated our 8th grade Moving Up Dance! It was a wonderful evening filled with music, laughter, dancing, and memories as we honored this special milestone for our students. We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and wish them all the best as they prepare for high school!

Friendly Reminder:

There is a Parent Meeting tonight for the students attending the 8th Grade Boston trip here in the Middle School Cafeteria at 5:45 p.m. This meeting is for parents only and is where you will receive a packet with all the necessary information for our upcoming trip.

Our last week of Middle School Month begins today! Check out all of the fun we had last week! Safe to say our students have been busy! Between the 5th grade spelling bee, the field trip to lunch at the Brookside followed by the Shrek musical, Pi Day Celebrations, a STEM based activity for our future engineers, our Minute to Win it Family Fun Night, and a trip by the Leo's Club to the Newfane Rehab Center, our time was well spent at the Middle School! Stay tuned for all that is to come this week!

We’re also thrilled to welcome our 4th grade families to join us for this event! It’s a great opportunity to have some fun, connect, and experience the middle school community.

💙💛 Looking ahead to Friday: In recognition of World Down Syndrome Day, we encourage everyone to wear blue and yellow to show support and celebrate inclusion.
