“The new standards push me to a new level, making sure I'm eating right and training regularly so I can meet the standard. I do think that it sets the bar just that much higher for warfighters to make sure we’re set up for success and able to carry out the mission.” - Capt. Margaret Tereschuk, 157th Force Support Group.

As the Air Force implements updated physical fitness standards, Airmen continue to demonstrate their commitment to readiness and mission success.

The assessment evaluates four key areas:

• Cardiorespiratory Fitness – 50 points

2-mile run

20-minute High-Aerobic Multi-Shuttle Run (HARM)

2-kilometer walk (if not medically cleared to run)

• Body Composition – 20 points

Waist-to-height ratio

Tier 2 Body Fat Assessment

• Muscular Strength – 15 points

1-minute push-ups

2-minute hand-release push-ups

• Core Endurance – 15 points

1-minute sit-ups

2-minute cross-legged reverse crunch

Timed forearm plank

The updated standards provide flexibility in how Airmen demonstrate their fitness while continuing to support the high level of readiness required to accomplish the mission.

🇺🇸One Mission. One Team. Total Force. 🐦‍🔥

Lt. Col. Travis Harvey relinquishes command of the 64th Air Refueling Squadron to Lt. Col. Christopher Fei, May 29th, 2026.

Military ceremonies date back to the Middle Ages and have served to commemorate victory over the enemy, honor comrades in arms, and celebrate special occasions, such as change of command.

During his time, Harvey oversaw 173 personnel and 12 KC-46A Pegasus aircraft, and his team offloaded 63 million pounds of fuel to 2,700 receivers during 7,000 combat flight hours, achieving a remarkable 99% mission success rate.

These metrics and Harvey’s leadership helped the squadron earn the Air Force Outstanding Unit Citation and propelled the 157th ARW to the Metcalf Trophy for total force excellence.

Fei expressed his commitment to continued excellence and fostering the Total Force Integration efforts that have led to the unit’s triumphs.

A Legend In the New England Skies

Rob Holland’s impact remains deeply emblematic and personal for the Airmen of the 157th Air Refueling Wing.

Today, on what would have been his 52nd birthday, the Airmen who got to fly by his side remember his character as an amazing pilot, a great wingman and an inspiration in the skies.

Train as you fight, fight as you train 🚒🧯🔥

Firefighters from the Pease Fire Department and 157th Civil Engineer Squadron put into practice Search and Rescue procedures wearing smoke-simulating masks and full Personal Protection Equipment.
They answer the call to the fireline and protect the base installation and our people.
👨‍🚒👨‍🚒
These exercises and simulations build muscle memory that will be invaluable for them to perform during high stress situations. Over time and with continual practice, the firefighters are able to perform actions such as wall-sweeping and searching with low visibility instinctually. The team demonstrated their commitment to the mission and excellence by sharing knowledge and giving each other critical feedback.

Firefighter readiness means rapid, error-free ex*****on of life-saving skills under extreme stress.

They are always ready. They are always there

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to honor, remember and reflect on the true meaning of service and the price of freedom.

Today, we remember the sacrifices made by brothers, fathers, sisters and mothers in uniform — and by the families who stood beside them through every deployment, hardship and loss. Their strength, courage and resolve continue to inspire generations of Americans.

As we gather in remembrance, we honor the nearly 10,000 fallen New Hampshire veterans laid to rest in our state cemetery, along with all those who have served and sacrificed in defense of our nation.

Memorial Day is a reminder to reflect on what it means to serve a greater cause and to recognize the high cost paid to preserve the freedoms we hold today.

May we never forget their legacy. 🇺🇸

Members of the 260th Combat Airfield Operations Squadron partnered with the 265th Combat Communications Squadron and the 151st Aviation Regiment during a landing zone safety exercise in Sanbornton, New Hampshire.

The joint training exercise focused on strengthening coordination between air traffic control specialists, communications Airmen and Army aviators operating in remote environments.

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter assigned to the 151st Aviation Regiment conducted multiple landing zone approaches while Airmen trained to establish and maintain safe operational procedures on the ground. The exercise reinforced interoperability between Army and Air National Guard units while improving readiness for real-world missions.

Long before sunrise, Airmen assigned to the 157th Air Refueling Wing are already at work preparing KC-46A Pegasus aircraft for flight. ✈️🫡

Crew chiefs and avionics technicians play a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability and combat readiness of every aircraft launched from Pease Air National Guard Base.

From inspecting systems and repairing components to guiding aircraft safely across the flightline, maintainers ensure every mission begins with precision and teamwork. Their work often starts before dawn and continues in every condition, supporting the Air Force’s global air refueling mission.

PEASE TO HOST BASE EXERCISE📢

Pease Air National Guard Base is scheduled to conduct an exercise May 12 to May 15, 2026.

During this time the local community can expect to hear announcements over the base loudspeakers including steady and wavering emergency tones and loud voice announcements.

These measures are part of the exercise only and no cause for alarm.

The 22nd Air Refueling Wing command team visited the 64th Air Refueling Squadron during a three-day tour focused on recognition, connection and mission readiness.🫡

Throughout the visit, Airmen from operations, logistics and maintenance shared their priorities, showcased their work and engaged directly with leadership. Moments like these reinforce the importance of communication and support across geographically separated units.

“[Visits like these] mean you have coverage from the East to the West Coast,” U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Markiesha Crawford, 22nd ARW command chief. “Then everyone has the best interests of the missions and the members in mind”.

The 64th ARS and the 157th ARW continue to exemplify Total Force Integration while supporting the air refueling mission from Pease Air National Guard Base and McConnell Air Force Base.
