☀️ Field Day 2026 was one for the books! 🏃‍♂️💨

From morning relays to afternoon popsicles, the energy at John Paterson today was absolutely unmatched. Our students brought the teamwork, the sportsmanship, and a whole lot of school spirit!

🦈 Video 3: The Grand Finale – While everyone was cooling down with popsicles, we surprised the kids with an Inflatable Costume Race! It was hilarious chaos, but a huge congratulations to the Blue Shark for zooming across the finish line and taking home the 2026 Championship crown! 👑🏆

👏 A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO OUR HELPERS:
Days like this don’t happen without an amazing village. A massive thank you to our incredible parent volunteers for keeping the games running (and the popsicles flowing!) and to our awesome 8th-grade helpers for being such fantastic role models and coaches for the younger kids today. You all rock! 🙌❤️

New project, same incredible energy! 🚀 For Project #2, BtB is stepping up to the plate for Skyline Softball. 🥎

After reading about the determination in The Floating Field, we spent Week 8 brainstorming a massive letter-writing campaign to advocate for a renovated field. ✍️📮 Throw in some high-energy team building, and this crew is ready to make some noise for our local athletes! 📣✨

And that’s a wrap on Project #1! 🎬✨ Week 7 was our Big Showcase, where we celebrated everything we made for the Newington Humane Society. 🐾

The blankets are tied, the scratching posts are ready, and the posters look amazing! A huge thank you to all the families who came out to support their child(ren) today. ❤️ This program and its success truly wouldn’t be possible without your constant support and encouragement! 🤝

But wait... we aren’t done yet! ✋ Our crew is officially gearing up to start Project #2 next week. Stay tuned to see what’s coming for Week 8! 🚀🌟

Newington Public Schools' Art Department will host its annual
K -12 Student Art Show this Spring 2026, and everyone is invited and welcome!

Join Newington Art Educators for the Opening Reception, or come at your own leisure to celebrate the artistic accomplishments of our Newington students in the show.

The exhibit will showcase exceptional works of art produced by students participating in Newington’s Art Curriculum.

Newington Public Schools- 2 Hour Delay-January 27, 2026

Good Evening Parents, Guardian, and Staff,

Due to the volume of snow that has fallen in our area, NPS will have a 2 hour delay tomorrow, January 27. Additionally, it is important to note that there are piles of snow in parking lots that may limit parking and some visibility. Snow appropriate attire and footwear is highly recommended.

Finally, for students who walk to school, please be advised that there are piles of snow that may impact driver visibility. Additionally, since residents are responsible for clearing their own sidewalks, it is highly likely that most will not be cleared tomorrow. If you are unable to transport your walker to school tomorrow, please advise them to be very cautious on their way to school.

Please exercise caution in all your travels tomorrow morning.
