Did you know that approximately 90 men and woman from Newington had a role in the American Revolution? And that Sgt. Elijah Churchill was the first to be awarded a Badge of Military Merit, later known as the Purple Heart? Historian Dan MacNeil presented these facts and much more in his Connecticut and the American Revolution talk, the first of several America 250 celebrations at the Center.
