Even though the academic year is winding down, school zones require your full attention.

Children traveling to and from school depend on drivers to stay alert, obey speed limits, and watch carefully at crosswalks.

Slow down in school zones to protect our youngest pedestrians and keep our communities safe.

In Connecticut, since 2018, there have been 1,639 crashes due to objects in the road. Of these crashes, 146 people sustained an injury due to the crash.

Dropped cargo can lead to crashes, injuries, and costly delays.

On Secure Your Load Day, remember to cover, tie down, and double-check your load before driving. A few moments of preparation can make a big difference.

*Please note: Data for 2025 and 2026 is preliminary and subject to change.

A secure load is a safe load.

Loose items can fall onto the roadway and create dangerous conditions for other drivers. Check your straps, tie-downs, and cargo before every trip.

Secure your load as if everyone you love is driving in the car behind you!

Today is Secure Your Load Day.

Before you hit the road, take a few extra minutes to make sure everything in your vehicle, trailer, or truck bed is properly secured. Preventing debris on the roadway helps keep everyone safe.

Before you drive, ask yourself: would I feel safe if I were driving behind this vehicle?

When you drink and drive, you put your freedom on the line.

One bad decision can lead to an arrest, costly fines, a suspended license, or a crash that changes lives forever. No ride home is worth that risk.

Plan ahead.
✅Designate a sober driver.
✅Use a taxi or rideshare.
✅Call a friend.

Between 2019–2023, there were 30 wrong way crashes.

Before entering the highway, take an extra second to double check ramps, arrows, and “Wrong Way” signs to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

Stay alert, pay attention, and always double check the signs.

Behind every flashing light 🚨on the side of the road is someone helping save a life, clear a crash, repair a roadway, or protect stranded drivers. These crews step into dangerous conditions every day so others can make it home safely.

When you see emergency vehicles, tow operators, first responders, or road crews ahead, slow down and move over. 💙🚨
