The ice rink at NPS is closed and the liner is destined for the transfer station unless someone could use it! Reach out to Newington Town Hall at 603.436.7640. Thanks!
Liner size is approx 40ftx40ft
Some good reuses are as follows:
Outdoor & Gardening Uses
W**d Barrier for Landscaping: Lay it under gravel or mulch for large areas. Since it’s waterproof, you may want to puncture it for drainage unless you are trying to kill off a patch of invasive brush.
DIY Pond Liner: If the liner is still relatively hole-free, it can be doubled up to create a backyard pond or a water feature.
Compost Cover: Keep your compost pile at the right temperature and moisture level by covering it during heavy rains or winter months.
Raised Bed Liner: Line the bottom of wooden raised garden beds to prevent wood rot and keep invasive roots from climbing into your good soil.
Home & Construction Projects
Crawl Space V***r Barrier: Use sections of the liner to cover the ground in a crawl space to prevent moisture from rising into the house structure.
Drop Cloth for Painting/Renovation: Because it is so thick, it won't tear like cheap plastic sheeting when you move ladders or tools over it.
Lumber/Woodpile Cover: It’s much more durable than standard blue tarps and will keep your seasoned wood dry through the rain and snow.
Temporary Roof Patch: In an emergency, a piece of rink liner is heavy enough to hold up against wind and rain until a proper repair can be made.
Recreational & Fun Uses
Giant Slip 'n Slide: This is the most popular secondary use. Lay it on a hill, add a little dish soap and water, and you have a commercial-grade water slide.
Outdoor Movie Screen: If the liner is white on one side (as most are), you can stretch a section over a wooden frame or the side of a garage for a high-quality projector screen.
Camping Groundcover: Place it under a large tent to prevent moisture from seeping through the floor and to protect the tent from rocks and roots.
Farm & Industrial Uses
Silage Cover: Use it to cover hay bales or feed to protect them from the elements.
Truck Bed Liner: Cut a piece to fit your truck bed when hauling messy loads like mulch, gravel, or wet leaves to make cleanup effortless.
Equipment Cover: Large enough to cover a tractor, mower, or boat for winter storage.
