Was the cause of the fire determined?

NEWKIRK — NFD chief Adam Longrier reports that the tank battery fire was extinguished just before noon but that Gate Road between S and T Streets will be closed until the area can be cleaned up.

Just a reminder that Peckham Fire Department does NOT have a phone number. If you have a fire, call 911. Your call will be received by Blackwell or Newkirk or Ponca dispatchers depending on where you call from. If you're a member of the Peckham Fire Department, please tell them. They will dispatch the volunteers and/or send a truck from another department.

Success! We had 267 adults and 14 children today at the Chicken Noodle Dinner. Thanks to the Newkirk Masonic Lodge for hosting this. Also thanks to all who cooked and cleaned and prepared. A special thanks to Teresa Beard for organizing this event.
