The annual Kay County OHCE Fall Association Meeting was held last night with an impressive turnout of members from across the county. This meeting is one of two annual business gatherings for the association each year, and it proved to be both productive and inspiring.

Members addressed a full agenda of business items, discussed upcoming events, and celebrated the continued growth of OHCE activities throughout the county.

A special highlight of the evening was guest speaker Braven Dyer, who represented Coryell Cupboard. Braven shared the organization’s mission and described the increasing community need for food assistance in recent years. He noted that the pantry now provides essential resources to an average of 300 people every Tuesday, made possible through the generosity and teamwork of the local community.

Kay County OHCE continues to demonstrate what it means to serve, educate, and strengthen our communities through connection and compassion. 💛

Kay County 4-H Community Service Spotlight

One of our Kay County 4-H members, Cash Tripp, is leading a special project called Comfort Bags, benefiting DHS kids across the Northeast District of Oklahoma.
We are collecting items to fill these Comfort Bags and bring comfort to children in need. Donations are due by October 14th at 4 pm to the Kay County OSU Extension Office in Newkirk.

Items needed include:

Small stuffed animals
Small toiletries/hygiene products
Tooth brush/travel-sized toothpaste
Small blankets/pillows
Small toys
Coloring books/Crayons

Let’s come together as a community to support this meaningful project and make a difference in the lives of children in our area.

If you’ve signed up for the Charcuterie in a Teacup Workshop on Wednesday, October 15th, at 6:00 p.m., please remember that your $10 fee must be prepaid to secure your spot. 🫖🧀

Pre-payment is required so we can purchase the supplies for your charcuterie teacup. Unfortunately, we’ve had situations where people registered but did not attend, which kept others from being able to participate when the class was full.

👉 To be officially registered, please be sure you’ve paid your fee. If you need to check, please call the office at 580-362-3194.

We appreciate your understanding and are excited for this fun, hands-on workshop at the Kay County Extension Office!
