The Newkirk Public Library really said “Unearth a Story” and apparently awakened a feral lawn dinosaur in the process.

Nobody knows where it came from. One minute the grass was calm, the next minute a giant plastic dino was staring into the windows like it wanted a library card and a snack. Staff members are doing their best to stay brave, but someone already lost a flip-flop during a very fast escape near the mystery section.

This summer, kids can read books, earn prizes, and help the town survive whatever this weird dinosaur situation has become. Every book you finish gets you closer to cool prizes and farther away from becoming the next paleontological incident. Scientists are confused. Librarians are stressed. The dinosaur seems happy. 🦖📚
