Avery Soil & Water Conservation District We provide quality service in natural resources conservation to the public of Avery County. The year round population of Avery County is at around 15,000.

The Avery Soil & Water Conservation District was chartered on August 21, 1950. Avery County has long been known as the Christmas Tree Capital of the World. Due to yearly climate conditions, Avery County is perfect for growing Fraser Firs and other ornamental shrubbery. Avery County boasts extraordinary natural beauty and that is one of the many reasons the tourism industry is the number one indu

stry in the county. We provide quality service in natural resource conservation to the public of Avery County through technical excellence, education and team work.
