It is with our deep sadness and regret to announce the passing of former Police Officer Kristen Yeager who served with our department from 2015- 2019. It was an honor to serve with Officer Yeager. Officer Yeager wa an outstanding officer and will be sadly missed by all. Please keep Officer Yeager, her family, her friends and her department in your prayers. God Speed Kristen.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

To the Citizens of Millcreek Township: It has been a privilege to serve Millcreek Township for over 26 years which included serving as the Police Chief for the last 13 plus years. I, Chief Brian Hostetter, have decided to step aside and retire from my career of over 30 years in Law Enforcement. Thank you all for your support over my career. Sgt. Katzaman is being promoted to Chief effective 5/22/2026. Please, join me in congratulating Sgt Katzaman on his promotion. Congratulations Terry!

Attention Residents: Snow Emergency is in Effect:

Millcreek Township has officially declared a Snow Emergency starting Saturday February 21st, 2026, at 4:00 PM, and will remain in effect until Monday February 23rd, 2026 at 6:00 PM. Plan now to have your vehicles off all Snow Emergency Routes. All roads in Newburg Village are considered a Snow Emergency Route. Other Snow Emergency routes include East and West Main St., North and South Sheridan Rd., Memorial Blvd. and parts of Parish Ave.

Note: It is safer for the Plow Drivers to not have vehicles parked on the streets. If you have a vehicle that does not start, now is the time to have it towed or otherwise removed from the roadway.
Vehicles parked on the streets are subject to parking tickets and may be towed.

There will be No Parking Permitted at the Township Building Parking lot. The White Swan Park Parking lot can be used for parking during the Snow Emergency.

Next: if you are unable to remove snow from your sidewalks, now is the time to make arrangements with someone who is capable of removing the snow for you. There are several local snow removal services that may be interested in your business.

Grimes Mower service: 610-589-2559, Krall’s Lawn Care: 717-821-5279 & Green Acres: 717-866-6222 are all in the Township.

Note, Township Ordinance requires owners of properties to have sidewalks cleared no later than 24 hours after the end of the storm. The pathway shall be no less than 30 inches wide. Also, no snow from driveways or sidewalks shall be placed on streets or roadways.

Help keep Fire Hydrants clear of snow.

Next, during the winter weather please be patient with our plow truck drivers. They will do the best they can to keep roads passable. After the storm they will work hard to clear the snow.

Finally, please help your neighbors and check in on elderly neighbors. If you can help them with their snow removal, I am sure they would appreciate your help.

ATTENTION: The Township Officials are monitoring the weather forecast regarding the potential for a significant winter weather event this coming weekend. We anticipate a Snow Emergency that would begin on Saturday at Noon.

UPDATE on the 2025 Christmas Jar Project:

We would like to thank the community for their continued support and generousity with the Christmas Jar project.

We would like to thank the Adventure Bound Eagles Peak Campground and In Stitches Quilt Shop for their donations and suuport.

We would like to thank the Living Stones Christian Fellowship Church for sponsoring the annual Christmas Jar project and for inviting us to be part of the project each year.

This year the Christmas Jar Project helped 3 families to have a happier and Merrier Christmas.

Attention Residents:

The Millcreek Township records indicate we have a lot of unused vouchers that have been given out for the Trap, Neuter and Release program with No Nonsense Neutering.

If you have any outstanding vouchers for the trapping program, they will be void starting January 1, 2026. New vouchers will need to be picked up at the Millcreek Township Office.

Going forward vouchers will only be given out with a confirmed appointment.

UPDATE on the 2025 Christmas Jar Project.

Today is our first Winter Weather of the season. Today is also Giving Tuesday. We need everyone’s help to make this year’s Christmas Jar Project a success.

We have just under 3 weeks left for you to help with this special project. We would like all donations to be turned into the Police Department or The Living Stones Christian Fellowship Church located at 229 East Main St. Newmanstown, by December 19. 2025.

There have been 3 families identified that could benefit from assistance from the Christmas Jar Project. You can read about each family in our prior post.

The Update is that we have received very little help so far this year. We realize this is a busy time of year for everyone. It seems the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas flies right by. So, in case you missed the announcement or plan to help but haven’t had the time yet now is the time.

This Christmas Jar Project started 14 years ago and has continued because of the support from our residents and local businesses. If you can donate to this special Christmas Jar Project, please have your donations to the Police Department or the Church by December 19, 2025.

Suggested Donations include: Gift Cards, Cash and Checks.

Please have any checks addressed to The Living Stones Christian Fellowship Church. On the memo line, please write Christmas Jar Project.

Thank you for considering helping with this important Christmas Jar Project and helping to make Christmas a little brighter for these families.
