Newmarket Fire & Rescue Newmarket Fire & Rescue provides Fire and EMS service to the town of Newmarket, NH. From May-Sept. We also have a boat and ATV on trailers.

The Newmarket Fire & Rescue is a paid per call department with two full employees that work 7am-4pm & 8am-5pm Mon-Fri. we have two paid Per Diem shifts on call at the station from 7a-5p on the weekends. The rest of the department is comprised of 10 officers and about 50 members. We have an administrative assistant that works 20 hours a week and a Chaplain. Our response vehicles consist of 2 ambula

nces, a 2500 gallon tanker truck, a 77 foot quint ladder, a forestry truck, an engine, car and utility vehicle. We house and staff the Seacoast Fire Chiefs Incident Command Trailer. We also provide EMS service to the neighboring town of Newfields.

Yesterday afternoon, Newmarket crews responded to Deerfield with Tanker 4 to assist on a fifth-alarm brush fire. Our team worked alongside multiple departments to establish containment lines, knock down hot spots, and keep the fire from spreading, while Tanker 4 shuttled critical water to the scene.

Incidents of this scale are a powerful reminder of how departments across the region come together when it matters most. Strong coordination and teamwork make all the difference in protecting our communities.

While the duty crew was clearing from a call for an odor of propane, and off duty members were at a medical call, Newmarket Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Exeter Road near Daybreak Drive. Engine 5 and Ambulance 1 responded, as well as Car 2 with additional off duty members. One patient was briefly entrapped and was freed using hydraulic spreaders. With a total of 3 patients, Stratham Fire was requested to respond with an ambulance to assist. Many thanks to our mutual aid partners and off duty members.

Newmarket responded to Rye today with Engine 5, while a second crew managed a medical call in town. Off duty personnel were critical in being able to support both incidents at one time.

The Department of Public Works and Town of Newmarket have declared a snow emergency and parking ban starting this evening at 10 pm The ban will be in effect until Tuesday at 6am.

***No trash or recycling tomorrow***

At 3:04 this afternoon while crews were working a medical call, a second call was received for smoke in a residence on Hershey Lane. A crew of three responded with Ladder 2. Upon arrival, the crew quickly extinguished a basement fire that appeared to start in a dryer. Newmarket was assisted on scene by Newmarket Police Department, Exeter Fire Department, Durham NH Fire Department, Stratham Fire Department, and Lee Fire & Rescue Department. Station coverage was provided by Newington Fire Department, Greenland NH Fire Department, Dover Firefighters IAFF L1312, and McGregor Memorial EMS.
