Looking for a fun way to get ready for the holiday season? Join UGA Extension Coweta County for one or more of our upcoming hands-on cooking and food preservation classes!

FALL BAKING CLASSES
Join Coweta County FACS Agent Olivia Handley for fun, hands-on classes featuring easy and delicious treats for the upcoming holiday season.
From candies to baked goods, we’ll make and taste recipes while talking about food safety and nutrition.
Class options:
- Thursday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m.
- Thursday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $10 per person
Festive refreshments will be provided.

CRANBERRY MARMALADE CLASS
Learn how to make and can cranberry marmalade while enjoying an evening of fun in the kitchen!
Class options:
- Wednesday, November 18 at 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m.
Participants will learn the entire process of water-bath canning and will take home a small jar of marmalade. Festive snacks will be provided.
Cost: $30 per person

“GIFTS IN A JAR” CLASS
Join Coweta County FACS Agent Olivia Handley for a fun afternoon of making homemade holiday gifts!
Participants will make two jars of baking mixes, layered in jars and decorated for gift-giving. All ingredients will be provided.

- Wednesday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m.
Cost: $20 per person
Refreshments will be provided.

Friday, Sept. 18: Don’t strain the drain.
A typical septic tank can only hold 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of water. Anything more than that might result in contaminated water coming to the surface.

To cut down on your usage:

✅ Regularly check for leaks in your faucets, toilets and appliances.
✅ Add in low flow faucets and showerheads.
✅ Look for appliances with that ENERGY STAR or WaterSense ratings.
✅ Space out doing laundry.
✅ Monitor for increased rain.
