John Williams wrote the memorable scores for a staggering number of popular cinema touchstones–Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, and the Harry Potter series. He has earned more Oscar nominations than any individual artist in the history of the motion picture Academy. Come hear author Tim Greiving give an engaging account of a man whose body of work is universally beloved. Hundreds of families were welcomed to the Stahr Courtyard, toured Witte Hall, enjoyed a magic show, listened to Councilmember Robyn Grant read from her new children's book, and saw the film of it by Ed Olen, and watched highlights of the coming season from the Newport Theatre Arts Center. July 11.

While civic leaders took part earlier last week in grand-opening events for the $23.4M Witte Hall, the doors were opened to the public Saturday for families to take a look.

Witte Hall is beautiful and the acoustics are stunning

In the works since 2019, a new $23.4-million auditorium at Central Library was celebrated in a ribbon-cutting cermony Thursday, with more activities planned for this weekend.

We celebrated the grand opening weekend of Witte Hall!

The new building in the Civic Center Plaza will be open for public tours on Saturday.
