Home Invasion Robbery Arrest
The Newport Beach Police Department has arrested three suspects following a months-long investigation into a violent home invasion robbery that occurred in Newport Beach earlier this year.
On March 13, 2026, at approximately 5:51 a.m., Newport Beach Police Department officers responded to a reported home invasion robbery at a short-term rental property in Newport Beach. Investigators learned that two masked suspects, armed with handguns, entered the residence and demanded money and narcotics from occupants inside.
During the incident, multiple victims were assaulted and sustained injuries requiring medical treatment. The suspects allegedly stole personal property, including cellular phones, jewelry, vehicle keys, and other valuables before fleeing the scene.
Detectives immediately launched an extensive investigation, utilizing several technology-related investigative resources. Investigators ultimately identified three individuals believed to be involved in planning and carrying out the robbery.
On June 3, 2026, detectives arrested:
- Linda Shahin, 38, of Los Angeles
- Edward Graves, 35, of Los Angeles
- Miguel Cervantes, 28, of Alhambra
All three suspects were booked on charges related to conspiracy and robbery. Graves and Cervantes were additionally booked on charges related to assault with a deadly weapon.
Search warrants were subsequently served at multiple locations connected to the suspects. During those searches, investigators recovered evidence believed to be connected to the robbery, including property reported stolen by victims. Detectives also recovered fi****ms and additional evidence that remains under investigation.
Based on evidence obtained throughout the investigation, detectives believe Shahin played a significant role in orchestrating the robbery, while Graves and Cervantes are believed to have carried out the home invasion.
Additionally, the Newport Beach Police Department is a partner agency with the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms & Explosives (ATF), Orange County Violent Crimes Task Force (OCVCT), and would like to thank them for their assistance throughout the investigation and during the apprehension and arrests of the suspects.
The investigation remains active and additional charges may be considered as evidence continues to be reviewed. This investigation highlights the commitment and tenacity of the men and women of the Newport Beach Police Department and their partners.
