To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

The foundation of the Boys & Girls Club is made up of programs that focus on five core areas: Education & Career Development, Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, Sports & Recreation Fitness, and the Arts. Some of the key programs include: Positive Action, Power Hour, S.M.A.R.T. Moves, Delta Dental's Smart Smiles, and Targeted Outreach.

Our Club members recently took part in the Badges for Baseball program through the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, combining time on the field with important lessons about respect, teamwork, leadership, inclusion, and making positive choices.

The program also gave youth an opportunity to build positive relationships with law enforcement officers and community partners in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We’re grateful for programs that give our kids the chance to try something new, build confidence, and learn skills they can carry far beyond the baseball field. ⚾️💙

There’s something special about bringing our Club, families, and community together! 💙

The BGCVP Peninsula Unit celebrated National Night Out with an evening full of good food, games, and plenty of fun. Families enjoyed a cookout with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and candy, while members could make necklaces, play Music Bingo, and show off their skills during basketball drills. 🏀🎶

Events like this give us a chance to connect with the people who make our community so special. We’re grateful to everyone who came out and helped make the evening such a great time!

Summer fun was in full swing at BGCVP! ☀️💦 Club members went all in during Splash Bash, enjoying water activities and inflatables, fishing-themed games, and plenty of snacks to keep the fun going. We even had a visit from local fire trucks, giving our members the chance to explore them up close and learn more about the people who help keep our community safe. 🚒

We’re officially less than one month away from BGCVP’s 30th Annual Dinner Auction, and we’re getting ready for a night of great food, drinks, dancing, entertainment, and plenty of friendly competition!

We’re excited to share that Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has received a $40,000 Taco Bell Community Grant to support our workforce readiness programming for teens!

This funding will help us continue preparing young people for life beyond high school through career exploration, job readiness, skill-building, and opportunities that help teens build confidence and plan for their futures.

Our BGCVP Peninsula Unit members spent some time with the Girl Scouts learning how to identify and manage their emotions. They used an interactive feelings wheel, practiced healthy coping strategies, and each took home a Manage Your Emotions kit to help them relax and refocus.

Equipping our kids with the tools to support their mental well being is exactly how we invest in tomorrow's leaders. This is a core memory that will help them thrive for years to come! 💛

An elephant sized lesson in empathy! 🐘💚

We unlocked a very special core memory at the BGCVP Gloucester Unit earlier this Summer. Ellie the elephant from TeachKind stopped by to teach our Club members all about compassion and treating animals with kindness. It was such a fun and engaging way to show our youth how their choices make a real difference in the world. Sometimes the biggest lessons come from the biggest friends! ✨
