The right to vote is the foundation of our democracy and it is currently under attack. Together, we can secure that right for every eligible Virginian by voting Yes on Amendment 3 by November 3.

Join advocates, community leaders, and returning citizens from across the Commonwealth as we officially launch this historic campaign. Be a part of the movement, help spread the message and take action to ensure every eligible Virginian has a voice at the ballot box.

The stakes couldn’t be higher, and future generations can’t wait. Let’s make history!

from Black Folks Rock Happy Ice has officially stepped into its Disney era.
Founder Lemeir Mitchell started Happy Ice in 2017 with one food truck and a dream to bring people together through color, flavor, and joy.
Now, that same vision has reached Downtown Disney, where families can grab Happy Ice at one of the most iconic destinations in the country.
Opening on Juneteenth made the moment even more powerful. This was not just a ribbon cutting.
It was a reminder of what happens when Black creativity, persistence, and business ownership are given room to grow.
Happy Ice is now serving Philadelphia-style water ice near Parkside Market with an all-natural menu made from real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients. For Mitchell and his team, this chapter is about more than frozen treats. It is about legacy, representation, and creating joyful experiences people will remember.
Congratulations to Lemeir Mitchell and the Happy Ice team.

Today the NAACP honors the legacy of our ancestors not through reflection but through action. This day we recognize the freeing of all slaves in America! Someone paid the price for you to be free, someone gave their blood, many lost their lives and made unwavering sacrifices.
As we celebrate Juneteenth today, we say thank you to our ancestors! We will pass it on and remind our future generations of this important day. The lord allowed us to make it and it is marvelous in our eyes!

Junteenth reminds us of the strength, resilience, and determination of those who came before us and the responsibility we share to continue fighting for a more just future. Today, we are organizing across the South to defend voting rights and fair representation because freedom is never free!
