Cutter Campbell recently moored alongside Cutter Legare (WMEC 912) at the US Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Maryland in preparation for Campbell to enter the service life extension program (SLEP). Careful coordination between the Yard, 270 SLEP Program Of Record office and many other stakeholders has led up to this point.

Over the next ten months Campbell will receive much needed work and upgrades to the ships propulsion, generation systems, and hull.

Campbells crew will begin the cross-decking process to Legare in the coming days, transferring property, gear, and tools to Legare in preparation for her reconstitution and reactivation. Legare has received its critical upgrades and stands ready to serve the nation once again after its own time in the SLEP program. Stay tuned for more news and updates as the crew complete the transfer and brings Legare to life!

Today we were honored to have Command Master Chief Riemer of U.S. Coast Guard Northeast come onboard to present MK1 Sheffield with District Northeast’s Enlisted Person of the Year award for 2025! Besides being awarded the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, MK1 Sheffield was also awarded the Coast Guard Achievement Medal for his hard work and dedication to the unit.

The crew of CAMPBELL was honored to host Rear Adm. Carlos Sardiello, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet and Chilean Navy Vice Adm. Raul Zamorano, Chief of the General Staff of the Navy during U.S.-Chilean Maritime Staff Talks in Newport, Rhode Island. During their tour they learned about day-to-day life onboard the cutter as well as CAMPBELL’s recent patrol.

Yesterday, the crew of USCGC Campbell had front-row seats to history as we assisted with maritime security for the iconic Artemis II mission launch on its journey around the moon. An unforgettable moment for our crew as we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday! Godspeed Artemis II!
