** Sponsor Appreciation Day **
NAPS AY22 celebrated Sponsor Family Appreciation Day on 19 March 2022 with lunch at Ney Hall followed by NAPS vs. USMAPS Lacrosse game on Nimitz Field. Thank you Sponsor Families for all your support during this academic year!
** Marine Corps MOS Mixer **
On 16 March, NAPS AY22 had the pleasure of interacting with Marine Officers from Naval War College, representing 10 separate military occupational specialties. Students had the ability to ask questions and learn more about Marine Officer careers.
** Naval Officer Career Fair **
On 2 March 2022, NAPS hosted 12 Naval Officers from Naval War College in support of a Naval Officer Career Fair. Students from across the battalion were able to interact and ask questions regarding future careers within the following communities: surface warfare, submaries, supply, EOD, medical, and aviation.
** NAPS Leadership Speaker Series #5 **
On 23 Feb, NAPS had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Nicholas Diorio, J2 Director of Intelligence and USNA class of '87, who gave a guest lecture on "Leadership 101: Insight and Discussions from a Grad, Dad, and Professional."

Please read below for some clarifying information regarding key May dates for AY22:
-09 May: USNA Admission Notification to students.
-12 May: Pass-in-Review at 1330. Friends and Family attire: Business Casual. Students on liberty following conclusion of Pass-in-Review until Grad Ball commences. Family and Friends Grad Ball attire: formal evening attire.
-13 May: NAPS Graduation Ceremony at 1330. Family and Friends attire: Business casual. Students will be dismissed from NAPS following the conclusion of the graduation ceremony.
NAPS BASE ACCESS SPRING 2022

In order for NAPS parents, family members and friends to visit NAPS Spring 2022 for Graduation events, each person 18 years of age and over will need to fill out a new application for Base Access, Form 5512. Form 5512, along with directions to complete the form and other important base access information is located on the NAPS web site at:

Important note: You may not turn in the same form used in the Fall of 2021. The new forms must be updated with Coach Grayson's information in Box #25 in order to be processed by Naval Station Newport Base Security. Forms take up to 10 days or 30 days (non-citizens) to process. Do not wait until May to submit the application for access, as it may not be approved in time.

**NAPS Marking Period Two Awards Ceremony**
NAPS AY22 celebrates the hard work and accomplishments at the conclusion of MP2. The ceremony included awards at the individual, platoon, and company level for academic excellence, military performance, and physical fitness. Prior enlisted Midshipman Candidates were recognized and awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for their exemplary personal and professional conduct. In addition, M/C Talley, a prior Marine, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Congratulations and Bravo Zulu to all our students on these many achievements!
** NAPS Leadership Speaker Series #4 **
In Janurary, NAPS held its fourth iteration of the Leadership Speaker Series. For this event, five Senior Enlisted Leaders from the Senior Enlisted Academy were the guest speakers. Representatives from the USN, USMC, Coast Guard, and a German Navy Frogman were on site to present their outlooks on leadership and the relationship between the junior officer and enlisted.
** Snow Removal Operations **
Its that time of year in New England for harsh weather and plenty of snow. NAPS AY22 students do their part to ensure daily operations continue to function seamlessly with snow removal aboard the NAPS campus.
**Fair Winds and Following Seas**
Over the past 30 years, Coach Bryan Brouse has served NAPS in a variety of billets to include Head Football Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Director of Athletics. His team-spirit and selfless dedication to thousands of students over the past three decades has set the benchmark of excellence for the entire command to emulate. During his retirement ceremony, Coach was awarded the Navy Civilian Service Commendation Medal in addition to having NAPS Gym 1801 dedicated to him. A beloved faculty member and educator, he will be sorely missed. Congratulations Coach Brouse on your retirement and a job very well done!
