We've got an updated schedule for Hands-On Home Food Preservation Workshops from June - September 2026.

Our new addition on September 19, 9AM-2PM, will cover . . . tomatoes and tomatillos. This "can" be a confusing area - as you can often choose to either pressure-can OR water-bath can them. We'll let you know how to figure it out safely, while teaching you BOTH methods!

Other options include Makin' Marmalade, Pressure-Canned Veggies with bonus Freezer Jam, Pressure-Canned Tuna with custom "Shop at the Dock" tour. More information and registration details can be found here: https://extension.oregonstate.edu/county/lincoln/events

Our first Home Food Preservation class of the new season is a special lunchtime session. We’ll be fermenting sauerkraut from Noon-1:30PM on Friday, May 15, 2026.

We have a jar of special kraut (i.e., not just cabbage😊) sitting on our counter right now, just waiting for you to try before you make your own. Rumor has it that there may also be an unexpected sauerkraut-based dessert available to taste!

But you won’t know unless you pre-register by 5PM on May 13, 2026 and join us: https://extension.oregonstate.edu/lincoln/events/home-food-preservation-program-presents-fermentation-frolic-sauerkraut

Each participant will take home one quart of hands-on small batch sauerkraut, a glass fermentation weight and a pickle pipe!

We're thrilled to share our just-released our May - August 2026 Home Food Preservation Program. You can find more information in the flyer below or on our website: https://extension.oregonstate.edu/county/lincoln/events
