On 06/09/26 just before 0100hrs, while units were still committed on West Ayre Street, box 2302 was dispatched for a house fire in the 100 block of Oakmont Avenue. Engine 18 and Tower 13 were handling area coverage and arrived to find smoke showing. Crews worked to extinguish fire on the second floor and in the attic. Assistant Chief 23 had the “Oakmont Command”.

On 06/08/26 just after 2330hrs , box 2301 was dispatched for the 200 block of West Ayre Street for fire from the roof of a house. Deputy Chief 23 arrived and found fire showing from the house and received a report from a neighbor of a possible subject trapped in the home. Engine 23 arrived , secured a water supply, and stretched a hand-line. As the crew stretched, Engine 23’s officer began a search for the trapped occupant. Approximately 90 seconds from the Engine’s arrival at the scene, the officer located a semi conscious victim within the home and removed them to the care of EMS.

The Engine, assisted by our mutual aid partners extinguished a well advanced fire in the basement, first floor, and attic. The remainder of the searches were negative. Chief 23 was the division supervisor, Deputy Chief 23 had the “Newport Command”

On 06/08/2026, just before 1400hrs, Engine 23 was sent on box 1600 for a reported house fire. Station 16 units arrived with fire showing. Engine 23 arrived as the third due engine, initiated a secondary water supply , and assisted with fire suppression on the roof.

On 06/04/2026 just before 2100hrs, box 2300 was dispatched for a house fire in the community of Lyndalia. Engine 23 arrived as the first due engine, and found a fire in the basement. Assistant Chief 23 had the “Newport Command”.

On 05/19/2026, just before 2030hrs, Rescue 23 was sent on box 0980 for a reported house fire. First arriving units arrived with fire showing. Rescue 23 operated as RIT.

On 05/09/2026 , at approximately 2100hrs, Squad 23 was dispatched on box 2106 for a fire in the Wawa as a result of a police incident. As Ladder 21 was as already on the scene for that incident, Squad 23 arrived as the first due engine.

After the scene was secured by police, crews were directed into the scene where they found smoke showing. Squad 23 stretched a 2.5” hand-line and extinguished the fire.
