Our 1 to 1 Readers wrapped up the year with a special celebration. Throughout the year, these partnerships helped build reading skills, confidence and meaningful connections. Thank you to our mentors!

Mr. Hinson’s carpentry students from Newport High School built several little libraries that have been placed throughout Newport. These student-crafted libraries will help promote literacy, encourage the love of reading and provide community members with easy access to books. We are proud of our students for using their talents to make a positive impact in our community.

Start of School Assistance (SOSA) is an EducateNKY volunteer initiative that helps students in Covington and Newport start the school year feeling welcomed, supported, and ready to learn. Volunteers will serve during the first three days of school, supporting arrival, classrooms, lunch, recess, or departure based on each school’s needs.
