The LKSD board recognized us for how hard we've worked to keep on having school this last year. Thanks to all the staff, students, and community for being strong and having a god attitude!

The LKSD Board and Administration wish to recognize the Newtok staff, students, and community for their resilience during challenging times. Thank you to the Ayaprun School staff for all you do to continue to hold school in-person despite facility challenges and to the students and community for your perseverance.

Unfortunately, the generators aren't repairable. We are going to try to power the toyo stoves at the school with a portable generator, so classrooms will have heat. We hope to be up and running and have classes as usual on Thursday and Friday.

03/24/2024

We're still waiting for a generator part, so no school yet.

We have great news. The State has agreed to waive the days we have been closed, so we don't have to make them up!

We can have optional summer school in Mertarvik, though. We're considering this as a possibility. If you would like your kids to come to school in the summer, please leave us a message. We need to get an idea of how many people would be interested to know if it's something to do.
