🐾❤️ Meet Duchess – A Loyal Heart Looking for Her Forever Home ❤️🐾

Have you been searching for a best friend who will love you with her whole heart?

Meet Duchess, a beautiful German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love.
Duchess may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet and affectionate personality begins to shine. She is looking for a patient family who will give her the time she needs to settle in and show just how wonderful she truly is.

🌟 Approximately 5 years old
🐾 German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix
💕 Sweet, loving, and loyal
🏡 Looking for a calm, patient forever home
🐶 Ready to be someone's faithful companion

Duchess has been through a lot and deserves a family that will never give up on her. She dreams of a cozy bed, daily walks, and a person she can trust and love forever.

🐾❤️ Meet Fetty – The Perfect Pint-Sized Sidekick! ❤️🐾
Looking for a dog who thinks he's a lap dog? Then you need to meet Fetty!

At only 35 pounds, Fetty is the perfect medium-sized companion. He's small enough to fit comfortably by your side but big enough to join you on all of life's adventures. His favorite place in the world? Curled up in your lap soaking up all the love and attention he can get!

Fetty appears to be a Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier mix, and like many terrier-type dogs, he's intelligent, energetic, and loves having a job to do. He thrives on companionship and enjoys being involved in whatever his people are doing.

While Fetty is incredibly sweet and affectionate, he would do best with an adopter who understands energetic breeds and is committed to providing structure, training, exercise, and patience as he settles into his new home. In return, you'll gain a loyal best friend who will be devoted to you through thick and thin.

🐶 Approximately 35 pounds
💕 Loves sitting on laps and being close to his people
🐾 Friendly, affectionate, and eager to bond
🧠 Smart and energetic
🏡 Looking for a patient, experienced adopter

Fetty didn't deserve to be abandoned, but he's ready to leave the past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family who will love him forever.

Could that be you? ❤️

🚨 STOP! BEFORE YOU PICK UP THAT BABY WILDLIFE... READ THIS! 🚨

Newton Animal Control is seeing an increase in calls involving well-meaning people unintentionally harming wildlife by removing healthy animals from their natural environment.

Every year, countless baby groundhogs, rabbits, fawns, birds, and other wildlife are taken from the wild because they appear to be abandoned. In most cases, they are NOT orphaned.

🦌 A fawn lying alone in the grass is usually waiting for its mother to return.

🐰 Baby rabbits are often left unattended for most of the day while their mother stays away from the nest to avoid attracting predators.

🐦 Young birds frequently spend time on the ground learning to fly while their parents continue to feed and protect them.

When people intervene unnecessarily:
❌ Families are separated.
❌ Animals experience extreme stress.
❌ Wildlife loses critical survival skills.
❌ Many animals that were never in danger end up needing rehabilitation.

The safest and most humane thing you can do is observe from a distance and leave wildlife where it is found.

⚠️ The only time intervention may be necessary is if the animal is visibly injured, sick, trapped, covered in flies, or if a deceased parent is confirmed nearby.

If you are unsure, PLEASE CONTACT NEWTON ANIMAL CONTROL OR A LICENSED WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR BEFORE TOUCHING OR MOVING THE ANIMAL. A quick phone call could save a life and prevent an unnecessary removal from the wild.

Remember: Not every animal that appears alone needs rescuing. Sometimes the greatest act of kindness is giving wildlife the space to remain wild. 🦊🐇🦆

Thank you for helping us protect New Jersey's wildlife and educating others about the importance of responsible wildlife stewardship.

🐾 Why Spay & Neuter Matters! 🐾

🐶 Did you know that fixing your furry best friend does way more than just prevent unwanted litters? It’s truly one of the most loving and responsible choices we can make as pet parents!

❤️Here are a few reasons why spaying/neutering is so important:🩺

Better Health & Longer Life: It significantly lowers the risk of reproductive cancers (like testicular and mammary cancers) and helps prevent life-threatening uterine infections like pyometra.
Spayed and neutered pets often live longer, healthier lives!

🏃‍♂️ Less Roaming: Pets are driven by mating instincts to escape, wander, and roam. Fixing them drastically reduces this urge, keeping them safe from getting lost, hit by cars, or injured in fights.

🚫 Better Behavior: It can curb unwanted hormone-driven habits like urine marking, territorial aggression, and hu***ng.

🏠 Fights Overpopulation: Millions of innocent animals enter shelters every year. By spaying and neutering, you’re helping to stop the cycle of pet overpopulation before it starts!

Let’s do our part to keep our pets safe and our communities healthy. Talk to your vet or check out the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Programs to find affordable or low-cost clinics near you! 🐶✨

🐾 Why Spay & Neuter?

It's About More Than Just Preventing Kittens! 🐾

Did you know that fixing your feline friend is the single best decision you can make for their long-term welfare?

Here is why it's such a game-changer:

❤️ Better Health & Longer Life

Spaying females eliminates the risk of deadly uterine infections (pyometra) and lowers the risk of mammary tumors.

Neutering males prevents testicular cancer and lowers prostate risks!

🚫 Goodbye Annoying Behaviors
Fixed cats are calmer and much more focused on home life. It significantly reduces or completely stops urine spraying, hormone-fueled aggression, and yowling.

🏃 Less Roaming, More Safety
Neutered and spayed cats have less desire to wander in search of a mate. This means fewer catfights, fewer injuries, and less risk of them getting lost.

🌍 Save Lives & Help Shelters
One unspayed female and her offspring can lead to thousands of kittens in just a few short years. Spaying and neutering help combat the pet overpopulation crisis and keep stray animals off the streets!

Help be part of the solution and keep our community's pets safe. 🐶🐱💖
