Catawba County EMS has been recognized for our services with several awards, including our most recent American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Award. A division of Catawba County Emergency Services, Catawba County EMS works closely with local rescue squads, fire departments, hospitals, and other agencies within the county. Our ambulances are staffed with Paramedics, Advanced EMTs, and EMTs. Representatives of Catawba County Government communicate via this website. Congratulations, Katherine Hartzler on her promotion to B Shift Chief Trainer!
Katherine began her career with Catawba County EMS as an EMT-B in 2021. graduating from Catawba Valley Community College as a Paramedic with her Associates of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science and has earned her National Registry (NREMT-P) paramedic certification.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Katherine serves on both the Public Relations Team and the Training Committee, supporting community engagement and the professional development of agency personnel.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family or having a quiet day with a good book.

Last week we celebrated the retirement of our long-time Medical Director. We are so thankful for his dedication and leadership through the years. Dr. McKaraher was instrumental in maintaining excellent patient care and innovative practices. Thank you, Dr. McKaraher!
