General information
The Gale Library is the public library for the Town of Newton, NH. The library was founded in 1892 and was set up in the Town Hall. In 1908, the library was moved to an antique one-room school house, now located on Route 108 and known as the "Marion Hatch Building". Since 1978, the library has occupied its present site, a former elementary school building. A capital reserve fund was started in 1982 to save and plan for future alterations to the library building.
