A reminder about the Franklin coat drive, running now through November 7. ❄️

Please help Coats for Kids and Families achieve their simple mission: “Anyone who needs a coat will have one” by donating coats you’re no longer using.
Coats can be dropped in the collection bin in the school entry lobby.
Donation guidelines:
    •    Donate coats of all sizes for adults, children, and babies
    •    Coats should be in good, wearable condition (no rips/tears, stains, broken zippers)
    •    No vests, snow pants, hats, mittens, or accessories
    •    Don’t forget to empty out all pockets!

Give yourself the day off of cooking, pick up a tasty meal and support both our school and a local restaurant by participating in our Dining for Dollars event at Blue Ribbon BBQ on November 3rd from 11am to 9pm!

Order takeout (lunch or dinner or both!) by calling 617-332-2583 or by ordering online at http://www.blueribbonbbq.com (http://www.blueribbonbbq.com/). 

You must mention “FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY” when picking up an online order, or when ordering on the phone.

The Franklin PTO will get 20% of the sale that will go directly towards the Falcon Fund! Delivery orders do not count towards the fundraiser.

You can order online starting today and select pick-up times on November 3rd! There’s no need to wait until next Monday to submit your online order. They have sandwiches, cornbread, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, bbq chicken, salads, burritos, key lime pie, mashed potatoes, and so much more! There’s something for everyone, including vegetarians and pescatarians!

HAVE A CROWD? Mention “FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY” for any catering orders anytime in the month of November and the PTO will get 10% of sales! YAY! Popcorn orders from the Fifth Grade Popcorn Fundraiser are being delivered TOMORROW!!

Popcorn can be picked up in the afternoon TOMORROW, Friday, October 31st from 2:30pm - 3:20pm outside the front of school!

Popcorn will also be available to pick-up on MONDAY, November 3rd (8:10am - 8:30am, and 2:30pm - 3:20pm)

Dear Franklin Families,

Thanks to all the families who attended Franklin’s Halloween Bash on Saturday afternoon! It was a frightful and delightful time! We transformed the gym into an incredible haunted house, had a fun Trunk or Treat, face painting, cotton candy, tattoos, crafts, snacks, a giant bouncy castle, spooky photo area with props, DJ, and a potion stand!

A sincere thanks as well to the dedicated Franklin students, parents, and friends who made the Halloween Bash possible:
- 5th grade students and parents for a spooky haunted house!!
- Trunk or Treat volunteers (all grades!) for their super creative decorated trunks & yummy treats!
- Marie Caruso and Christopher Bryan for the delicious cotton candy
- The Player Family (& friends!) for their amazing potion stand
- DJ Torch (Neel Tiku) for the awesome music
- The many parent & Franklin alumni volunteers who donated snacks, helped set up, worked at the stations, and helped to clean up at the end of the afternoon! We could not have done it without you!

We also were so fortunate to have Franklin parent, Jules Ko Myung, be our professional photographer for the event! Her incredible photos will be shared soon to the community, but for now, here are some highlights of her photos mixed into the photo album!

Dear Franklin Families,

THE FRANKLIN HALLOWEEN BASH is this WEEKEND on Saturday, October 25th from 2PM - 4PM at Franklin Elementary’s Cafeteria, Staff Parking Lot, Gym, and Kindergarten Playground!

The Bash is just a couple of days away!! The Bash is a wonderful Franklin community event that will start at Franklin’s front entrance, with a “Trunk or Treat” in the staff parking lot, and a Haunted House in the gym (both end at 3pm so don’t miss out)! We will also have a giant inflatable bounce house, freshly made cotton candy, dance party, fun tattoos, face painting, snacks, potion stand, spooky photo area, and more in the cafeteria and kindergarten playground! In addition to being a great Franklin tradition, all proceeds go to the PTO to support academic programs and initiatives to enrich our school at Franklin. We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there!

******* The entrance for the bash will be the FRONT DOOR OF SCHOOL! The kids will receive a treat bag to use during the bash once you check in so there’s no need for them to bring their own bag to use for the Trunk or Treat! If possible, please order tickets online in advance to make the lines go quickly. Cotton candy is always a huge hit - there is a limit of one per person please!

******* The entrance for the Haunted House (only open from 2pm - 3pm hosted by spooky 5th graders ) will be through the inside of school in the main hallway - turn left as you enter the school. It is a ONE WAY haunted house only in the gym, and the exit is the gym door that goes out into the staff parking lot where the Trunk or Treat will be from 2pm - 3pm. To get back to the start of the haunted house, please walk back into school through the cafeteria and into the main hallway. If you want to go directly to the Trunk or Treat or Kindergarten Playground, please go through the cafeteria!

Tickets can be purchased in advance for savings and to avoid long lines on the day of the event. Tickets are $7 per person / $25 Family Pass. Tickets can be purchased below before 9PM this FRIDAY:

There are only FIVE MORE DAYS LEFT in the Franklin Fifth Grade Moving On (FGMO) Committee popcorn sale! The FGMO Committee is made up of 5th grade parents who will be fundraising throughout the year to raise funds for items like graduation events, yearbooks, t-shirts, and more! Most of our fundraising efforts will be open to the whole school (like upcoming bake sales) and we really appreciate your support!

There are 16 different popcorn flavors to choose from, and it is easy for family and friends to order and help support Franklin! Flavors: Buttery Caramel, Cheesy Cheddar, Cheddar Jalapeno, Caramel & Cheese Mix, White Cheddar, Fruity, Kettle Corn, Cinnamon Toast, Movie Theater Butter, Three Cheese, Dill Pickle, Ranch, Chocolate Delight, Strawberry Shortcake, Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake. Your popcorn will be ready for pick-up at Franklin by mid-November - in time for you and your friends and family to bring some sweet snacks to Thanksgiving or just to enjoy right away! Online orders have a $0.95 processing fee.

From now until October 19th, students will help get the word out and collect popcorn orders: either in-person or online (see below). All orders and payments should be submitted no later than October 21st. We can accept cash or checks made payable to: Franklin PTO. Please send in order forms and payments to your classroom teachers or directly to the Fifth Grade Moving On Committee parent volunteers . We will be collecting orders & payments in-person in front of the school next week on October 20th and October 21st from 8:00am - 8:30am and 2:40pm - 3:10pm.

THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS

1 - Use the physical order-taker to write orders and collect funds on the spot.

2 - Text/share our Online Store to LOCAL friends and family. Supporters will buy online using their credit card. Please DON’T indicate online orders on the physical order form.

Sellers - Please remember:

- SHARE LOCALLY ONLY. You must hand-deliver items to your supporters if they select FREE Organization Delivery. Or, they can opt to ship directly to their home for a shipping fee.
- Buyers will indicate WHO they are supporting in the Checkout (first and last name of the student, and “Franklin” as group name). At the end of the fundraiser, we will provide you a sales report with your online sales.
- Don’t indicate your online/credit card sales on your physical order-taker.
