Thank you to the team at Boston Marriott Newton for hosting our last day of summer camp through their initiative! Campers enjoyed a full day of traditional field day fun & games and a delicious lunch in the ballroom plus the longest game of tug-of-war ever to be held indoors!

A Big Congratulations! to our Teen Director, Kara Danas for her achievement of the Boys and Girls Club of America National Professional Service Award commemorating 7 years of service! Thank you for all you do to inspire and support club kids every day.

We recognized and thanked Representatives John Lawn, Amy Mah Sangiolo, Greg Schwartz, and Senator Cindy Creem for supporting a $3M FY27 state budget allocation benefitting Clubs in cities and towns all over Massachusetts. Representative Kevin Honan also attended in support of his colleagues and as the Alliance’s main budget sponsor. Representatives Lawn, Sangiolo, and Honan toured the Club, spoke with Club kids, and saw firsthand the programs their state funding to the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs supports!

Congratulations to the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton's Babe Ruth Baseball Team for winning back to back Newton City league Championships! Another fantastic job by the Clubbers and volunteer Coach Kevin Oxendine and his fellow coaches.

Did you know that former Red Sox Pitcher and Newtonite Jim Corsi pitched for the Boys & Girls Club's little league baseball team? He also helped break ground on our new facility in 1998. Come watch this year's Babe Ruth Baseball Squad led by volunteer Coach Kevin Oxendine compete in the finals against the top seeded Elks on Monday 8/10 and Tuesday 8/11 at NNHS at 5:30 PM.
