The Sussex County Division of Health is the lead provider for the NJ Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) program in Sussex County. NJCEED offers comprehensive outreach, education, and free screening services for breast, cervical, colorectal, and prostate cancers to county residents who are under or uninsured.

A women’s health screening, which will include a clinical breast and pelvic exam, will be held on the following dates:

Thursday July 23, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday August 27, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 17, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 15, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 19, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, December 17, 2026, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Please call the Office of Public Health Nursing at 973-579-0570 x 1246 to find out if you qualify, and to make an appointment (appointments are required).

Sussex Borough and Wantage Township residents: stop by Brookside Park today from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to visit the Zufall Mobile Health Clinic!

The Zufall Mobile Health Clinic provides medical care and screenings, including substance use diagnosis and treatment, to Sussex County residents. Services may be covered by private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Uninsured patients may qualify for a sliding fee scale, and no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Today’s clinic visit at Brookside Park is being funded by Wantage Township through its Opioid Settlement Funds and is prioritizing Sussex and Wantage residents.

The clinic’s next stop will be on June 8 at the United Methodist Church in Vernon. Services at that location will be available to all Sussex County residents and funded through Sussex County Opioid Settlement Funds.

The County of Sussex is excited to announce a celebration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. This family-friendly community event will feature an afternoon and evening of patriotic festivities including food vendors, free games and activities for all ages, free family entertainment, free live music, and a fireworks display, along with many other attractions to commemorate America’s 250 years of independence.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to join Sussex County in celebrating this historic milestone with an afternoon of community spirit, fun, and entertainment!
