City of Newton's offices and recreation centers will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. They will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, at 8 a.m.
Newton’s neighborhood parks—Northside/Broyhill, Southside, East Newton, Westside/Jaycee, Jacob Fork, Herbert M. Yount Memorial, Little Brook, and Chadwick—will be open from 6 a.m. to dusk as usual.
Sanitation collection will operate as usual. To ensure collection, Newton’s sanitation customers are reminded to place roll-out garbage bins at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on their assigned collection day.
