On August 20, the Korean flag was proudly raised at Boston City Hall in celebration of the 81st anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day. 🇰🇷
We shared a meaningful moment with the Korean national anthem and enjoyed some Korean food after the ceremony.

🇰🇷 Korean Heritage Night 🇰🇷

지난 8월 15일, 우스터 Polar Park에서 광복 81주년 기념 한국의 날 행사가 열렸습니다!
K-pop 댄스 공연부터 풍물놀이, 한복 체험, 애국가 제창까지, 야구장 곳곳에서 한국 문화를 함께 즐기는 시간을 가졌는데요.
한국전쟁 참전용사분의 시구도 함께 진행되어 더욱 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

Korean Heritage Night was held at Polar Park in Worcester on August 15 in celebration of the 81st anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day!
The event featured a K-pop dance performance, a traditional Korean Pungmul performance, Hanbok try-on experiences, and the Korean and U.S. national anthems.
The night was even more meaningful with a Korean War veteran throwing out the first pitch.

6월 20일, 메인주 뱅고어(Bangor)에서 「와바나키(Wabanaki) 한국전 참전용사 추모 및 감사 행사」가 개최되었습니다. 🇰🇷🇺🇸

이번 행사는 미국과 한국에서 오랫동안 충분히 조명받지 못했던 와바나키 원주민 한국전 참전용사들의 희생과 헌신을 기억하고, 참전용사와 유가족에게 대한민국의 감사와 존경을 전하기 위해 마련되었습니다.

주보스턴대한민국총영사관은 메인주 보훈부(Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services), 와바나키 공동체와 협력하여 참전용사들의 군 복무 기록과 유가족을 확인하고, 잊혀졌던 영웅들을 다시 기억하는 뜻깊은 시간을 함께했습니다.

On June 20, the Wabanaki Korean War Veterans Recognition Ceremony was held in Bangor, Maine.🇰🇷🇺🇸

The ceremony honored Wabanaki Native American Korean War veterans, whose service and sacrifice have long been underrecognized in both the United States and the Republic of Korea, while expressing Korea's gratitude to the veterans and their families.

In partnership with the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services and the Wabanaki community, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Boston helped recognize these forgotten heroes and preserve their legacy.
