Here are the final scores from the Regional Final matchups played this week on our Newton Healthsmart Pharmacy Scoreboard.

The 6A State Championship match-up will be set later tonight. Watauga plays at home against Northern Guilford & Jacksonville takes on Middle Creek. Winners will meet in the 6A State Championship next weekend.

We're down to the Championship Four! The Regional Finals come your way this Friday night with a trip to the state championship on the line!

One regional final will see a battle of the Blue Devils as Maiden (9-4) will travel to Brevard (13-0) to determine who will represent the West in the 4A State Championship. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

Another regional final will feature the Crest Chargers (11-2) taking on the Hickory Red Tornadoes (12-1) at Frank Barger Stadium in the 5A West. Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.

We'll have live and exclusive coverage from Brevard starting at 6:30 with our Dwayne Wilson Insurance Pre-Game Show! Plus, we'll have live reports from the regional final in Hickory as well.

Round 4 will see the Maiden Blue Devils (8-4) make the trip to Lenoir to take on the Hibriten Panthers (11-1). Kick-off is at 7:30 PM.

We've reached Round #3 of the state football playoffs!

Round 3 features another re-match as the Maiden Blue Devils will come back to Gurley Stadium to take on the Newton-Conover Red Devils. Newton-Conover won in double OT on Halloween night to end the regular season.

The 70th all-time meeting between the two schools will decide who gets to practice the week of Thanksgiving and play on Black Friday in Round 4.

Congratulations to Bandys QB Brady Swett for being voted by the coaches as the 2025 WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Player of the Year!

The senior QB for the Trojans was the county's leader in passing yards, completion percentage and total TDs. Swett has tallied 3,067 total yards (2,616 passing; 451 rushing) while accounting for 37 total TDs (27 passing; 10 rushing) this season.

Swett becomes the 6th Bandys player to win the Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Player of the Year Award. Other Bandys players to win it:

Round 2 features a re-match from earlier this season as the Fred T. Foard Tigers visit Gurley Stadium to take on the Newton-Conover Red Devils. Newton-Conover won the meeting at Foard 3 weeks ago.

Congratulations to Newton-Conover's Noah Hendrix for being voted the winner of the Week 11 Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award.

Noah had a busy night on Friday to close out the regular season. He tallied 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble in the Red Devils win over Maiden to close out the regular season this past Friday night.

The Red Devils are the 3-seed in the 4A West playoffs. They'll have a first round bye this week. Newton-Conover will start their playoff run next Friday night in Round 2.
