Memorial Day is a day to remember those men and women who died in active military service.

On Saturday thousands of US flags were planted at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne by hundreds of volunteers. The skies cleared as we remembered men and women like Major David S. Connolly a proud BC graduate who died in Afghanistan while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Please take a moment to remember and say the name of those you knew who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Join BCVAN for the St. Ignatius Military History Series!

We invite you to join us on Tuesday, October 10 as Col. (ret.) April Skou ‘96 shares some of the stories and historical context of women who paved the way for today’s 300,000 active duty servicewomen. While there are over 3 million individual stories dating back to the Revolutionary War, we look forward to highlighting a few in appreciation of their efforts to not only defend the United States but also to navigate a world traditionally inhabited by men.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The Veterans Alumni Network (BCVAN) sponsors several events throughout the year that bring together veterans from throughout the BC community. Their signature event is held on Veterans Day each year and includes a Mass and a Remembrance Ceremony. Other events include a gathering at Reunion each year...

A great article about one of our Boston College graduating student veterans, Anthony Sears.

U.S. Coast Guard veteran and Woods College graduate Anthony Sears lives life on his own schedule.

Seventeen years, and it seems like yesterday. Thank you for all the ways you have touched our lives, while you were with us, and since you've been gone. Rest in peace until we meet you and Big Al again in that bocce court in the sky. 🇺🇸
