Today is Juneteenth. This date marks the arrival of federal troops to Galveston, Texas in 1865 to ensure the news of the Emancipation Proclamation, signed more than 2 years prior, was shared through the confederate states.

This federally recognized holiday is a celebration of freedom and Black culture as well as a reminder to all what work is yet to be done. This year we reaffirm our commitment to racial justice, equity and celebration of the amazing legacy and impact of Black Americans.

I scream! You scream! We all scream for ICE CREAM!
Our amazing, annual ice cream social is next Wednesday, June 17th from 2pm-4pm. There will be all-you-can-eat ice cream provided by none other than the incredible Cabots. We will also have a bouncy house, balloon animals and great raffles. We hope to see you all there!

The final Music Mondays at the Scandinavian Center performance of the season is this afternoon at 2pm. Please join us!
