🍠 Getting our hands dirty in the Giving Garden!

Harvey County Master Gardeners spent the day planting sweet potato slips that will grow into a harvest benefiting the Giving Garden. We’re excited to watch them grow throughout the summer and help provide fresh produce for our community. 🌱

👓🦯 What does aging REALLY feel like?

Participants at the recent Gray for a Day program at the Newton Public Library had the opportunity to experience some of the sensory and physical challenges many older adults face every day through hands-on simulations and activities.

Our agent Bonnie Brewer led this eye-opening program that helps build empathy, encourages healthy aging habits, and provides valuable insight for anyone who works with, cares for, or volunteers alongside older adults.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the Newton Public Library for partnering with us to bring this experience to our community! 💙

Five Harvey County 4-H youth recently traveled to Kansas State University for Discovery Days, including two members who served as small group leaders!

Discovery Days gives Kansas 4-H members a chance to experience college life while exploring a wide variety of classes, career paths, and hands-on learning opportunities. Participants stayed on campus, attended educational sessions, connected with other youth from across the state, and took part in fun activities throughout the week.

Highlights included an inspiring keynote presentation from Trooper Ben and a campus-wide scavenger hunt that helped youth explore K-State while building teamwork and leadership skills.

We’re proud of these young leaders for representing Harvey County 4-H and taking advantage of this incredible learning experience. 💜🤍
