Here are some key dates to know for the 2026 primary election. Election Day is Aug. 4.

The overall voter registration deadline for the primary is July 14. The deadline to change political affiliation from one party to another was June 1.

Unaffiliated voters can choose to affiliate with a party to vote in that party's primary up through Election Day. Unaffiliated voters can vote on the constitutional amendment ballot question in the primary without affiliating with a party.
