Summer is a great time to explore Iowa’s many beautiful bike trails! Whether you are out for a casual ride or participating in a long trek, you can take steps to keep your summer safe:

⛑️ PROTECT: Always wear a helmet! Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen and don’t forget the bug spray. 🦟

Another great afternoon of training with the PCM Preschool teachers! Today’s focus was CPR and First Aid training, helping staff build the skills and confidence needed to respond when seconds matter.

These educators gave up part of their afternoon to better prepare themselves to protect the kids in their care, and that commitment deserves recognition. We are thankful for schools and organizations that continue to invest in preparedness and training before emergencies happen.

Great night of training happening across Jasper County. We had the opportunity to provide Stop the Bleed training at Baxter Rural Fire Department Baxter Fire and at St Luke United Methodist Church in Newton, where we also discussed CPR/AED use and what to do when emergencies happen.

Huge thank you to everyone who gave up part of their beautiful evening to better prepare themselves to help others when seconds count. That willingness to learn and step up is what helps make our communities stronger and safer.

Another successful AAIR training is in the books here in Jasper County.

Today wrapped up the second and final day of training, bringing together responders from across Iowa to work through fast moving active threat scenarios and integrated response operations. Participants spent the day sharpening skills in team movement, threat area coordination, rapid patient care, extraction techniques, and communication between law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch.

These classes are mentally and physically demanding, but that realism is what prepares responders for the worst days.

We appreciate every agency that helped support the training and every student who invested their time to become better prepared to protect their communities.
