Assault Investigation — Crane Crossing Road

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21, officers of the Newton Police Department responded to a reported motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Crane Crossing Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman seriously injured and lying in the roadway. An initial investigation determined that it was not a motor vehicle accident, the woman had been assaulted by a passenger in the vehicle.

The suspect was identified as Soren Glasser, 23, of Merrimac, Massachusetts. Glasser was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree assault and five counts of resisting arrest.
Glasser was held on preventative detention pending his arraignment on Monday, August 24, 2026. Following the arraignment, Glasser was ordered to be held on preventative detention and remains in custody pending his next court hearing.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in serious condition.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by members of the Newton Police Department. The Newton Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance as this investigation continues. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lt. Aaron Mounsey at the Newton Police Department.

Newton Cuties brought a whole lot of smiles to the station!

Office Manager Katrina Russo and Chief DiFlumeri had a blast welcoming these wonderful Newton residents! Katrina sent them home with badges and Beanie Babies, and they returned the kindness with some delicious donuts.

Unfortunately, Chief DiFlumeri is no longer in any condition to eat donuts, but he absolutely loved the thoughtfulness and sweet gesture!

Fresh off completing a 4-day National Child Passenger Safety car seat installation training, Officer Eulie didn’t waste any time putting his new skills to work!

On his day off, Officer Eulie came in to properly install two car seats for one of our residents. That’s just another example of his willingness to go the extra mile and truly immerse himself in our community.

It’s this kind of dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others that makes us proud to have Officer Eulie as part of our department.

Wisecrack Wednesday! Officer Beaudet was spotted on scene giving an expert quote on repairing this vehicle after a minor motor vehicle accident.

Corporal Addonizio, apparently concerned about the quality of the finished product, suggested that Maaco might be the better choice!

For the record: Officer Beaudet did NOT do the bodywork on this vehicle.

No officers, vehicles, or autobody shops were harmed in this incident!

When Officer Cooper from the Brentwood Police Department called and asked if Animal Control Officer Ryan could help wrangle Komodo and transport this cutie to the NHSPCA in Stratham, there was never a question, we were happy to help our brothers and sisters in Brentwood.

Chief Murch, expect a bill from the Town of Newton. 🤣

All kidding aside, we're always proud to assist our amazing colleagues whenever they need a hand. Teamwork and partnerships like these are what it's all about. We're looking forward to seeing Komodo back home where he belongs!

Chief DiFlumeri Announces Child Car Seat Inspection and Installation Service at the Newton Police Department
NEWTON, N.H. Chief Robert DiFlumeri is pleased to announce that the Newton Police Department is now offering child passenger safety seat inspections and installation assistance to residents.
Officer David Eulie has successfully completed 32 hours of specialized training from the National Child Passenger Safety Board and is now a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Through this certification, Officer Eulie is qualified to inspect child safety seats, assist with proper installation, and help ensure that car seats are correctly fitted and used in accordance with current child passenger safety guidelines.
Chief DiFlumeri believes this is an important service for the department to provide for Newton families.
"The proper installation and use of child safety seats can significantly reduce the risk of injury in a motor vehicle crash," said Chief DiFlumeri. "We are proud to offer this free service to our residents and appreciate Officer Eulie's commitment to enhancing the safety of children in our community."
Residents who would like to have their child's car seat checked for proper installation and compliance are encouraged to contact the Newton Police Department to schedule an appointment with Officer Eulie. Please leave your contact information and Officer Eulie will contact you and schedule your appointment.
Appointments are required to ensure adequate time is available for each inspection and to answer any questions parents or caregivers may have regarding child passenger safety.
