Federal funding for SEAK is yet uncertain-- please consider supporting this initiative by providing items on this wish list (they do not need to be from Amazon).
Last summer, we served 2,500 meals to children and families, and we are expecting the same this summer, but can only do so with your help!

BrightStar Discovery Center (BSDC) is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team! This is a full-time position caring for children ages 2-3.
We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have:
Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
The ability to meet state requirements for education and our childcare center requirements.
The ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

BSDC is a small, privately owned center with a maximum capacity of 38 children. Our current teaching staff consists of four lead teachers and one floater. We are currently not accepting high school applicants. Must be have a high school diploma if under the age of 18.

BrightStar Discovery Center (BSDC) is seeking a floater to join our team! This is a flexible position that can be full or part-time, with hours varying depending on various factors. As a floater, you’ll have the opportunity to “float around” the center, providing assistance wherever needed. This could involve tasks such as changing diapers, assisting with potty training, serving meals, taking children outside, working in small groups, teaching life skills one-on-one, and more.

Additionally, you’ll be offered hours as teachers call in, become sick, or have scheduled personal days.

While childcare experience, fingerprints, and observation hours are highly encouraged, they are not mandatory for application. We are committed to training the right candidate and are looking for someone who is flexible, friendly, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives. Can’t wait!

We're moving! Our last day in the current library building will be Saturday, March 2. We anticipate reopening in the new library on Monday, April 1.

We'll continue to circulate materials right up until 6 p.m. on March 2, and due dates that would normally fall during the closure will be extended until we reopen.
