Today we celebrate James Houchen and his 25 years with KemperSports!
His journey started at Shoal Creek in Kansas City before making his way to Newton, where he has been part of Sand Creek Station since day one. From the very beginning, James has helped shape what this course is today.
His dedication is the reason Sand Creek Station continues to show up at its absolute best day in and day out. From daily course conditions to helping us host some of the biggest events in the game, James has played a role in it all.
Because of his leadership and commitment, Sand Creek Station has welcomed events like the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, the USGA Adaptive Open, multiple NCAA Division I National Championships, Korn Ferry Tour Qualifiers, The Railer, and so many more. These are more than just events, they are moments that put our course on the national stage, and they don’t happen without the foundation he’s built over the last 25 years.
What you see on the surface, perfectly maintained greens, pristine fairways, and a course our community is proud of, is a direct reflection of the work James and his team put in every single day.
If you see James around the course, make sure to give him a thank you. 25 years is something special, and so is the impact he’s made here at Sand Creek Station!
