Join us for the last Newton Centre Bowl concert of the season on Sunday, August 9, featuring the Ruth and Ben String Band. Pack a picnic dinner, bring a beach chair or blanket, and get ready for a wonderful show, 6 pm to 7:30 pm. The Bowl is right off of Tyler Terrace in Newton Centre, next to the Hut.

Starting at 6 PM, this Boston-based band brings their unique blend of country-inspired rock and rock-inspired country to the stage. Pick up dinner from one of Newton’s local eateries, find a spot on the lawn, and enjoy a fun night of live music and community.

Every year, the Newton Cultural Council (NCC) provides grant funding to dozens of arts organizations, artists, and creatives here in Newton; in 2026, the NCC has provided over $65,000 in support to 47 separate groups and individuals. Happening now at Newton City Hall: "Andalusia, A Timeless Journey," by Alex Maruga. Originally from Belarus and now living in Newton, Alex is a professional photographer whose work in Belarus focused on corporate events, family celebrations, and private clients. The City Hall show features his personal photographs from southern Spain that highlight the interplay of light and space. The show will be on display through September 30.

Performances in the Park are back! For six Sundays—from July 5th through August 9th—join our community at the Newton Centre Bowl for great music and camraderie. All concerts run from 6 to 7:30.

Bring a blanket or folding chair, a picnic dinner, sit back, and enjoy! Leashed pets are welcome, and dancing is highly recommended!

The Bowl is located adjacent to the Newton Centre playground, down the hill from the HUT (69 Tyler Terrace), and in the back of Mason-Rice school.
