Newtown Township is now accepting applications for part-time school crossing guards.

The primary responsibility of this position is to help children and parents safely cross the street while walking or biking to and from school. Crossing Guards provide visibility for pedestrians, help remind drivers to slow down and follow traffic laws, and monitor school crossing zones to help ensure a safe environment for students.

This role works under the direction of the Chief of Police of the Newtown Township Police Department and requires clear communication, attentiveness, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Crossing Guards must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain alert while assisting pedestrians during school arrival and dismissal times.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong attention to detail, and a good understanding of traffic safety and local regulations. The position requires standing for extended periods of time and the ability to safely manage pedestrian crossings in a busy roadway environment.

Important Notification

Paxon Hollow Middle School's graduation ceremony is scheduled for
June 9th at 1:00 PM at Marple Newtown High School.

Due to the large number of attendees expected, school parking lots will likely reach capacity, and overflow parking is anticipated on nearby residential streets.

If you are attending the graduation, please be mindful of local parking regulations. Do not block driveway entrances, park too close to fire hydrants or stop signs, or otherwise park illegally.

The ceremony is expected to last approximately 1.5 hours. Thank you for your cooperation and consideration for local residents.
