Great news for Edgmont Township!

The Township has been awarded $323,797 through Pennsylvania’s Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) program for asbestos remediation and renovation of the basement of the Edgmont Township Municipal Building.

The project will include professional asbestos remediation followed by a renovation of the basement into a multi-purpose, ADA-compliant community meeting space. The new space will be available to local nonprofits, homeowners associations, civic groups, and other community members who need an accessible place to meet.

The project will also include a public ADA-compliant restroom serving both the new meeting space and the adjacent Community Park, addressing a long-standing need for park visitors.

A huge thank you to Jess Redding, Assistant to the Township Manager, for putting together such a strong grant application and helping secure this funding for Edgmont! Thank you as well to State Rep. Lisa Borowski and State Sen. John Kane for their support of the project.

I’m excited to see the basement of the Township Building transformed into something our community can use and enjoy!

Edgmont Community Day is one of my favorite days of the year, and despite a soggy start, yesterday reminded me exactly why.

Thank you to the committee members, Township staff, volunteers, event sponsors, and the Bates family for making the day possible. And a big thank you to everyone who braved the mud and spent a few hours celebrating our beautiful community.

I 💚 Edgmont!
