Paper Mill House Museum The Paper Mill House and Museum is a historic three story stone building along Darby Creek in Newtown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

The Paper Mill House and Museum is a historic three story stone building that serves as a local history museum as well as a home to archives and headquarters of the Newtown Square Historical Society. The original building was constructed in c.1770 to house four families that worked at the local mills along the Darby Creek. The building also contained a general store that served the community that

grew up around the mills. Saved from demolition and restored in the early 1980’s by concerned residents, today the house serves as a local history museum as well as a home to archives and headquarters of the Newtown Square Historical Society.

Spring Tours at the Paper Mill House and Square Tavern, Saturday April 1st from noon to 4pm. Enjoy guided tours of Newtown's 1700's history at the tavern and 1800's to the present at the Paper Mill House. Period decor, 1800's General store, expanded gift shop, Art. Tour three sites in Newtown's Historic District this Saturday for "History Meets the Arts", part of Delco Arts Week. The 1742 Square Tavern route 252 and Goshen Road will offer Women Artists in History displays and new local art exhibits and sales. The Paper Mill House, St. David's and Goshen Road will host art demonstrations, local art and tours of the beautiful 10 room mill house. The Bartram Covered Bridge, Boot and Goshen Road will offer tours and local "Art on the Bridge".

"Tool Time at the Paper Mill House" Saturday, July 30th, from 1 to 4pm, woodworkers and tool guys Bob and Harry will be demonstrating the use of hand tools for various carpentry such as the mortise and tenon joint used in timber frame homes. The Mill House has an extensive vintage tool display, and Bob and Harry know how to use them expertly and can answer your questions. Enjoy experiencing 1800's life along the beautiful Darby Creek at Newtown Square Historical Society's headquarters on St. David's and Paper Mill Road. Explore our ten rooms filled with antiques and the history of Newtown Square. Costumed guides on site. Refreshments served.

The final day of our annual Spring School Tours at the Paper Mill House. Fourth graders from Loomis Elementary School learn about Newtown's history from an interactive floor map, try their hands at washing clothes 1800's style, and practice weaving on hand made looms. Home school families portraying life in the 1800's take time to relax and enjoy the beautiful day!
