Newtown Township has enrolled in a new program with the Pennsylvania Game Commission called the Certified Hunter Program. This program will allow our Township to achieve deer management goals with hunters who are trained to manage deer populations effectively in a safe and efficient manner.

Between now and January 25, 2027, hunting may actively occur on Township property, and we are advising recreational users to wear fluorescent orange as a precaution and to increase your visibility. A solid fluorescent orange hat and/ or vest will help keep you seen. We also suggest orange on your four-legged friends as well! An orange collar, leash, vest, or bandana helps your pets be seen too.

For additional information on the Certified Hunter Program, you can visit the Game Commission’s website at pa.gov/agencies/pgc/landowner-resources
