A little prevention goes a long way in reducing tick exposure this season!

✔️ Wear tick repellent and light-colored clothing outdoors
✔️Stay in the center of trails and avoid tall grass
✔️ Shower and do a tick check after spending time outside

Ticks thrive in damp, shaded areas — but a few simple steps can help make your yard safer for your family and pets!

✔️ Create a woodchip or gravel barrier between your lawn and wooded areas
✔️ Keep grass short and clear away leaves and brush
✔️ Let sunlight in by trimming hanging branches
✔️ Keep play sets and gathering spaces away from wooded edges

It's EMS Week!

Every May, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week is celebrated nationwide to acknowledge and thank our EMTs and Paramedics for the lifesaving work they do every day. Thank you to all the incredible first responders in Newtown, Roxbury and Bridgewater. Let this week shine light on all the EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and EMS volunteers who commit their time to serving our community.

A message from EMS.GOV:

"This year’s theme, 'Improving Outcomes, Together',is an opportunity to focus on the many ways EMS professionals work together and across disciplines—with 911, healthcare, public health, fire service, law enforcement, and others—in the best interests of patients.

Collaboration and communication are key to improving outcomes across EMS, including better patient care, injury prevention and support for the well-being of clinicians and leaders."

Thank you to the EMS teams in Newtown, Roxbury and Bridgewater. We celebrate you during EMS Week and every day for the life-changing work you do.
